Smoking Policy


            For years Mount Olive College has had a smoking policy that stated smoking at Mount Olive College was in designated smoking areas only.  Unfortunately those designated smoking areas have never been defined, until now.  Today Mount Olive College is releasing and implementing the Mount Olive College Tobacco Use Policy which will define those designated smoking areas.  This policy applies to trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, students, contractors, vendors, clients, and visitors at all Mount Olive College locations.  By implementing the College Tobacco Use Policy, Mount Olive College is seeking to enhance the health of our students, faculty, staff and visitors to our campus.
As stated in the policy, it is the hope of Mount Olive College that students, employees, and visitors will recognize the value of this policy and voluntarily comply.  Implementation and enforcement of this policy are the shared responsibility of the entire College community.  Mount Olive College believes that for this policy to be effective, a self-enforcing culture needs to be the norm.  Therefore, all members of the College community will be asked to courteously and tactfully inform individuals in violation of the College Tobacco Use Policy about the Policy.
