Experiential Learning Credit (ELC)

Criminal Justice and Sociology

The purpose of these guidelines is to assist students who are submitting a petition for experiential learning credit (ELC). Very specific rules must be followed when awarding credit for prior learning experiences, therefore applications to petition for this kind of credit must be prepared completely.

Please refer to the college catalog for course selection.

A properly prepared ELC portfolio will contain the following:

  • An indepth resume of the student’s education and training experiences, and job history including responsibilities on the job.
  • If credit for training is being included, please site all areas to be considered.
