Department of Language & Literature
The Department of Language and Literature provides courses in literature to help students examine the major questions about the meaning of life that are inherent in human cultures from ancient to modern times. Courses in language help students develop written and oral communication skills necessary for successful living. Language and literature courses in English, French, Latin, and Spanish emphasize international culture and the importance of competency in language use. Educational travel experiences, such as Spring Break in Paris and Madrid, are offered to enrich courses in modern foreign languages.
