Mount Olive College Students

Undergraduate Club

Mount Olive College students formed the Undergraduate Alumni Association (UAA) during the 1997-98 academic year. The purpose of the Association is to encourage and promote membership among present students, to strengthen the relationships between past, present, and future students of Mount Olive College and to foster the total development of the Mount Olive College Alumni Association (MOCAA).

Association members help with Homecoming preparations and activities (includes providing baby sitting service), host the MOCAA Board meetings, assist with each Campus Visitation Day held by the Admissions Office, make phone calls to alumni, assist with the Kinston Indians vs. MOC Baseball game, give appreciation items to MOC support staff, assist with graduation receptions, puppet show presentations and face painting for toddlers at the Mount Olive Pickle Festival.

2009-10 UAA President Alyssa Cummings '10

“I have had the best experience at Mount Olive College,” said Alyssa Cummings a senior visual communications major. “I have met wonderful people, been on amazing trips, and grown in my faith. These past four years have been incredible and I know I wouldn't have had a better time anywhere else!”   Alyssa brings a lot of energy and new ideas to the table. One idea at the top of Cummings to-do list is to instigate a Legacy Dinner.  The dinner will be for students and their parents who are alumni of the College. Other projects on tap for the Club this year include participating in several service projects including prepare spring goodie baskets for the Free Will Baptist Children's Home. The organization also coordinates the annual Chocolate Craze held in conjunction with Valentine’s Day each year as a way to show appreciation to the College’s faculty and staff. Additionally, the UAA assists with planning for Alumni Weekend, scheduled this year for November 20-22. Alyssa states: "The UAA is important because it closes the gap between students and alumni. The money contributed by the Alumni Association helps provide Mount Olive College with new facilities and funds numerous scholarships. Being a member of UAA is a chance to show the alumni that we appreciate what they do for the College."
