REGIONAL NO. 5 MEN'S BASKETBALL RALLIES PAST COKER 82-65Craig Hayes (pictured) led four players in double figures with 22 points and Mount Olive rallied from a seven-point deficit late in the first half as the regionally fifth-ranked Trojans defeated Coker 82-65 in Conference Carolinas men's basketball Monday at Kornegay Arena. Mike Holloman added 21 points and Kendrick Easley scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half. Full Story
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS COKER 77-53Helen Moore scored 19 points, Laporsha Davis added 18 points and Meaghan Vanderhorst (pictured) tallied 15 points and five steals off the bench as Mount Olive defeated Coker 77-53 in Conference Carolinas women's basketball Monday at Kornegay Arena. NO. 30 BASEBALL SWEEPS LENOIR-RHYNE IN SEASON-OPENING DOUBLEHEADERNationally 30th-ranked Mount Olive swept Lenoir-Rhyne in its season-opening baseball doubleheader Monday at Scarborough Field, taking the opener 13-1 and winning the nightcap 8-0. SEVENTH-INNING RALLY COMES UP SHORT AT USC AIKEN SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTKelly Minshew hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the sevent, but Mount Olive's rally came up short as the Trojans fell to Seton Hill 8-6 in day two of the USC Aiken Early Bird Softball Tournament Sunday at Aiken, S.C. BRITTANY MILLER NAMED TO COSIDA/ESPN THE MAGAZINE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAMBrittany Miller, who has a perfect 4.0 grade point average, has been named to the 2009-10 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Women's Basketball Academic All-District 3 First Team, as voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
