Anne Smallwood Added As Assistant Athletic Trainer
Anne Smallwood, who spent the past three years on the athletic training staff at Tulane, has been added as an assistant athletic trainer at Mount Olive College. She joins head athletic trainer Mike Ingle and assistant athletic trainer Angelica Ortiz.
Smallwood was an assistant athletic trainer at Tulane University, where she covered baseball and also worked with football. She assisted with two-a-day practices and game coverage.
Previously, she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at University of New Mexico, where she earned her master of science degree in physical education with a concentration in sports administration. In addition to assisting with football at New Mexico, she was also responsible for baseball, track and field, softball, volleyball and swimming and diving.
Smallwood also interned at Indiana University and served as a student assistant athletic trainer at Appalachian State University, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in athletic training with a minor in health promotion.
Along with her collegiate experience, Smallwood also spent two summers as a certified athletic trainer for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots baseball team in the Alaska Baseball League.
Smallwood is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is NATABOC certified.
