Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences


Mount Olive College, located in Mount Olive, NC, seeks a Dean for its School of Arts and Sciences.  The Dean provides leadership, planning, and operational management for the School, which comprises six departments and 38 full-time faculty members.  The Dean will also teach four courses per contract year.  Mount Olive College offers both traditional education programs and non-traditional programs for working adults.

The ideal candidate will combine a history of initiative with a demonstrable respect for collaborative work.  A minimum of five years’ academic administrative experience is required, as is the doctorate in a field in the liberal arts and sciences.  Experience as a department chair, assistant dean, or associate dean is required, as is a minimum of ten years’ collegiate teaching experience.

FULL TIME FACULTY POSITIONS:

The Mount Olive College Music Department invites applications for a full-time Teacher of Music.  Teaching duties will include private and class voice and other voice-related courses, directing the College Concert Choir and a 12-member vocal jazz ensemble and other courses within the individual’s fields of expertise.  Piano accompaniment skills a plus. The successful candidate will be at home in a Christian Liberal Arts setting, and be capable as a teacher and performer of a variety of performance styles, not limited solely to art music. Mount Olive College is searching for a part-time bus driver to drive athletic teams and singing groups in a 29-passenger bus. Must have flexible schedule since travel may be overnight and on any day of the week. Must have valid NC Class "B" license with "P" endorsement or Class "A" CDL and good driving record. Mount Olive College at Mount Olive is searching for two Part time Housekeepers. Individual must be able to work 25 -30 hours per week to include nights and weekends. Must have knowledge of basic housekeeping procedures. Must have the ability lift at least 50lbs. Must be detailed oriented. Office of Institutional Advancement


Vice President for Institutional Advancement


Mount Olive College, an independent church-related liberal arts institution with six locations across eastern North Carolina, offers an outstanding opportunity for a collegial professional to become its next Vice President for Institutional Advancement.  Reporting to the president and serving as a member of the College’s executive council, the new Vice President will oversee a staff of 16 professionals in the areas of alumni relations, annual fund, church support, development, development services, planned giving, public affairs and sponsored programs.  Serving as the College’s chief fundraising officer, the Vice President also serves as the President of the Mount Olive College Foundation.  Working closely with the President, the College’s Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board, the Vice President is tasked to identify and implement strategies to communicate the transforming message of the College to external constituencies, and to provide for the fundraising needs of the College.

With the successful completion of a $27 million dollar capital campaign in 2006, Mount Olive College has undergone significant expansion in both enrollment and facilities in recent years.  Recent advancement efforts have reflected capacity building measures and the establishment of a cultivation society in preparation for a future capital campaign under the leadership of a new College president. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraising professional with a bachelor’s degree, though an advanced degree is preferred.  A successful track record with progressively responsible experience in leading a development staff, planning effective public relations, strategic planning and budget management, as well as successful cultivation of major and planned giving prospects is required.  Essential is knowledge of alumni relations, annual giving programs, prospect management and campaign strategies.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the mission of a church-related liberal arts college.

Men's Residence Life Coordinator


Mount Olive College at Mount Olive is searching for a Men’s Residence Life Coordinator. Individual will be responsible for the administration and supervision of assigned residence facility and staff. Individual will have involvement in judicial affairs, counseling, and advisement of resident students. Individual will enforce campus policies and procedures, facilitate holistic student growth in conjunction with Student Development staff. Individual will also be responsible for emergency response, crisis intervention, staff training, advising students and holding office hours. Master’s degree preferred in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling or other related area of study; previous residence life experience required. Receptionist/Administrative Assistant for the MOC RTP (Durham) location.
Position calls for person to route phone calls, greet visitors and students, and provide administrative support to recruiters and counselors.  Also, assist Director with additional duties that will ensure smooth operations year round.
