Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln's Journey to Emancipation Exhibit
The Civil War still fascinates Americans even after 145 years and that is especially true of Southern Americans. The reason are various but one of the biggest is that with rare exception (Indians and Tories), no other Americans have been defeated, their homes destroyed, and their land occupied by “foreign” troops. And unlike so many of America’s wars which took place overseas, Civil War battles took place all around us.
This Lincoln Exhibit is a fascinating program that will attract Civil War buffs as well as the general public.
Join us for music, food, and commentary related to the exhibit. Civil War era music will be presented by MOC students and conducted by Dr. Melanie Crump. A history professor will be available to answer questions about the exhibit.
Please contact the library at (919)-658-4916 or (919)-658-7869 if you have questions.

Lincoln’s parents, living environment, and experiences help in understanding why Lincoln was the right man, at the right time for a ‘house’ that was divided. Please contact the library at (919)-658-4916 or (919)-658-7869 if you have questions.
